A yearly tradition of many NASCAR drivers is to provide hero cards for their fans. In 2020, I was given the opportunity to design a set for Erik Jones and his German Shepard, Oscar Jameson Jones.
This project provided a unique challenge of showcasing not only the driver, their brand, and sponsors but also their personality in a new and refreshing way than previous years. With virtual reality and video games continuing to push limits year after year, the direction taken was inspired by the futuristic and minimal style found in video games, specifically player profiles, within the Esports industry. This direction was a proven strategy when the sport went completely virtual on the iRacing platform as the COVID pandemic began early in their season and continued through 2020.
